Well, what a couple of months its been, We got back from Florida, went to St. George, spent easter at the Ranch, which was great, the weather was good the food was excellent and the company was supurb. Business is finally starting to pick up and we are getting busy. which is really, really good. Today its raining and thats great, the spring has really lifted my spirits and the rain just keeps coming, right when we need it to keep everything green and growing.
Have a great day, make it what you want it to be, and if it doesn't workout, so what, we're all just wingin it anyway.

A Dream come True - The Daytona 500

To say that I have been dreaming of going to this race for a long time would be just a bit of an understatement. I have always been a race fan, and this is the biggest race of them all. Jenny and I had been able to stop at the raceway in 1999 when we went to Florida with KC and Sheryl but that was in Sept/Oct and there weren't any races going on. That trip just stoked the fire and its been simmering for a long time. whatsmore I couldn't have asked for better companions to attend the race with than my brothers and my son.(and kari) The six of us had a great time seeing all the booths and vendors, all the food, and all the race cars. We were seated in the lower bowl of seats about 1/2 way up, right across from the start of pit road. You could just see the tops of the cars on the far side of the track but you could follow them all the way around, execept right in front of you, they go by far to fast to see. 188 mph ave. The race only made it to 152 laps of the scheduled 200 because it started to rain. But all in all it was definatly a dream come true.

What is it that makes life worth living? I have noticed that I'm finding pleasure and taking enjoyment in the littlest everyday things. The way my wife's eye twinkle when she's happy, the way my kids send me off and greet me at home with a hug. The green of the grass and the color of a flower. And as weird as it may seem, the way a building can just appear out of no-where. I have been struggling financially lately, and I am learning to rely on the Lord for what we need to sustain us, it is really a humbling experience, but I am just grateful that Jen was willing to take on another job to help us get by. p.s. We have our Condo up for sale if anyone is interested. Also if any of you happen to have some 16" tires lay'n around I could use them for my truck.

The adventure called life

Over the past few months we as a family have been thru some interesting ordeals. For example our youngest daughter had a growth in her jaw that had to be surgically removed, then our truck broke down in 3 different ways on the way to a family reunion. Our 1st and 2nd daughters moved into new schools with the start of the new school year so now we are trying to juggle 3 different schools. We have been working all week and then working to relax at the ranch, where by the way we got snowed on last weekend, my wife started a new additional job cooking for the senior center....and to top it all off the wind last weekend broke one of our trees in half.

You might think all this would weigh us down, but if we look on the bright side, the surgery went fine and baby bay is healed up. The truck still runs with only two fingers crossed, the kids are getting an education, the ranch is looking great, the extra job means a little extra money, and the tree needed trimming anyway.

Just so you don't think its all work and no play around here, I have attached some pictures of the ranch, Jenny and I hiked to the top of the mountain above the ranch, straight up at times and do you know what we found? A road, right up the back side, but we took some nice pictures, I played in photoshop with one to show the boundaries and I circled camp for some perspective. See if you can find my truck, its there somewhere.

what I've been doing this summer

After a rather slow start, summer has hit with a bang, during the second week of June we went to Cedar City to build a building and had snow on Thursday and 90 deg on Friday. But we have pushed through and completed some really nice buildings. I've attached some pictures, so judge for yourself. AL
